I'll get off the side walk, if foot traffic is really heavy. But I feel much safer there, I had too many close call with cars on the road. Yeah, you are higher than cars, but that don't matter when people feel they can beat you to a intersection to make a turn or just don't pay attention.

Come to Minnapolis a get hit by a car crossing in a marked crosswalk. Here mororists do NOT follow any traffic laws and the police not only don't enfore laws, but break them just the same..
I ride on the roads. I have hit by a hit and run, while I was stopped at red light, attacked by motorist among other lawless actions...Funny thing, I read and follow the traffic laws, one of very very very few around here....
Do motorist follow laws there?

well thats better than those cyclists driving right in the MIDDLE of the traffic lanes and not caring about red lights is it!!

Oh noes, how can I sleep safely now, knowing the dangers of bicycles on the sidewalk? I'm never going to use sidewalks again, I might get hit a by a bicycle.
