As the good and the great descend on Copenhagen to decide how to tackle climate change how clear are the rest of us on what exactly is going on? Who do you believe? How do you sort it out?

The same questions vexed Ian Wishart and Gareth Morgan so much that both have published books.

Wishart's Air Con comes down on the side of the sceptics.

Morgan's Poles Apart points to the fact we humans created the problem.

Close Up's Donna Marie Lever has their two sides of the same issue.

  • i cant believe that so many people believe that there can be a conspiracy in a whole field of science we are talking about thousands of scientists, all this debate on climate science has show is the publics ignorance of how science works, if you really want to see who is telling the truth look up the smoking and cancer debate in the 60's and the evolution creationism debate because the best way to fight the facts and universal scientific consensus is to confuse the public.

  • climategate!

how sure do we have to be of it all being a fraud before we hang the bastards trying to rip the entire globe off and set up a world governance body with the profits of the scam?

anyone that still believes in man made global warming after climategate is a fool or a shill.

taxed to death, illegal wars, fractional reserve banking, fluoride in the water..... ect ect ect

how much does it take to wake the dead?

  • @KreedzBattleMovies Dont confuse CO2 with pollutants. Pollutants are bad, no one disagrees with that. CO2 is a naturally occuring gas on a planet covered with carbon based lifeforms, and is actually vital to our existence. Without it the earth would freeze over, and all life on earth would come to an end. Exhaling produces CO2, are you suggesting we need a new method of exhaling?

  • @0qaz77 how do you ignore 34,000 scientists who say it's a load of crock? This has absolutely nothing to do smoking or cancer, and to even mention that is a totally unscientific argument.

  • does anyone realise that volcanic activity creates more pollution than mankind ever has and continues to.Mt Pinatubo spewed more pollution into the atmosphere than mankind throughout history. The global warming debate is dictated to by the left wing.We are being conned.Whenever i argue this point i get abuse from the Greens.

  • Why does NZ keep adding 'gate' to the end of anything controversial! As an NZer, that is embarrassing. Not as embarrassing as Ian Wishart though. He claimed his book was 'the most politically incorrect in NZ". No, it is just the most incorrect.

  • I just want to tell - bye bye nature.

People won't stop poluting planet, thats what makes us most dirty creatures.

On the other hand we really SHOULD find another solution, and STOP the old ways of gaining energy with co2, etcetera.

  • But I guess I am just another one of these living dead unable to make my own way in this world. Yet another sheep.

But at least dont let the media feed your resent at blah blah blah.

  • And i mean even if we have to pay an extra 500 even a 1000 a year we all still have an incredibly luxurious lifestyle where very few of us are having to eat the bark off trees. Look at it completely unbiased nothing about the crap capitalist system that has in more ways than one enslaved many of us but think of it logically and with clarity. We have reduced through our actions the natural ability of the earth to process this individual form of change. The rest all contribute

  • come on guys, please try to look past the obvious and weak remedy to make an attempt to prevent our contribution to climate instability.

I agree as he has said that solar flare activity has had an effect however the climate is not influenced by one factor. Even anthropogenic carbon but if we can prevent the impact we are having isnt that the best course of action. There are many other ways to reduce our negative impact that we are having besides tax.
