More important than to pay respect to the fallen, we have to learn from this horrific chapter of the human history, I think that by learning from what happened is the best tribute we can offer to the fallen millions upon millions of jews, soldiers, civillians who died... Learn to never again kill and descriminate like the Nazi germans did... Peace is what the world needs urgently! The world and the humanity.

i'm not saying israel is the only one, i'm sure other countries do that too

But in some countries, like USA, its actually SHOPPING DAY.

there are sales discounts everywhere, everyone shops, and very few will actually stop to think and pay respect for the dead.

We do it as well every year. Actually pretty much every country has a day where they respect those that have fallen. The cars stop driving, radio and television all go silent for 2 minutes. This has nothing to do with Israel.

Sounds like my car alarm. But great acknowledgement and remembrance thing to do. Like how they beep their car horns as soon as they get in their cars.

Oao! I Want to participate in this som day, in Israel. Amazing! Such respect. Very admirable. Participated on my own in sweden, having my own 2 minutes at the same time as Israel, praying for the Shoah victims. Amazing!
