Brian May appeared on BBC One's The One Show with presenters, Matt Baker and Alex Jones, Friday, 30 Sept 2011, to introduce a short film, presening both sides of the Badger cull argument, and attempting to find a middle ground and persuade currently opposing sides to be prepared to get around a table and thrash out a real solution. Brian feels very strongly that killing badgers is not the answer to this problem, which is costing the British tax payer thousands of pounds in compenstion, as well as the futile slaughtering of both cattle and badgers.

  • Brian is the perfect mix of talent and intelligence!! <3

  • man those badgers are under pressure, but, as they say the show must go on...plus they're only badgers and who wants to live forever? but i really think you'd have to be stone cold crazy to want to kill badgers.

  • @emilshere This is where the problem lies. You have no idea how to go about controlling vermin. TRUST me Lead is the BEST way, most EFFICIENT way, and just as importantly the most HUMANE way.

  • @emilshere Maybe that was the wrong choice of word. I know they are doing what comes naturally but it is also natural to have predators...

  • @JackHollinshead you keep referring to a badgers "sins"... like they are intentionally commiting some kind of immoral act. Animals cannot "sin", they are only doing what they are naturally supposed to do.

  • typical greed , to kill animals because of money loss... instead of looking for a more effective and humane solution... because the cheapest solution is to just kill them.... humans are truly the most destructive species...

  • Good news today, it appears the trial culls will go ahead. Mrs spelman is a wonderful Environment Secretary. She actually listens to people who earn a living from the countryside and give a positive impact back. So it appears Landowners like MYSELF, not the ones pretending to be like selbybadgerwatch, will be able to cull badgers where it is needed in the near future.

  • @SelbyBadgerWatch Bollox...

  • @SelbyBadgerWatch All you care about is the badgers, because to you they are some cuddly little animal that wanders about minding his own business. When infact they are overpopulated vermin.

  • @SelbyBadgerWatch yes hedgehogs eat eggs but obviously not as many as a badger. Plus there are so few hedgehogs in my area because the badgers keep eating them, when was the last time you saw a hedgehog in an area heavily populated with badgers? I am sorry but its a fact that badgers take lambs and poultry. This is where you badger watch groups slip up. You dont give a damn about the countryside, farmers, gamekeepers or any one else who actually does anything positive for it.

  • @SelbyBadgerWatch come on thats just being pedantic, you know what I am getting at, their sins being the damage they do to they countryside. And that was atypo at the end, supposed to be so you only think....
