I bought this truck used with 33,000 miles on it. It still has the original engine, transmission, air conditioning, back brakes (yes back brakes!) water pump, Original K & N air filter. I change the oil every 5,000 miles sometimes I go well over 12,000 miles without an oil change and that's the truth! coz' I thought this truck wouldn't last any longer but it still goes so I think it's time I baby this truck and change the oil more often. NO additives were added to this engine like synthetic engine treatments. Why do I have so many miles people ask? Coz' I used to work as a messenger driver for a shipping company.
Update: My back brakes were finally replaced at 624,517 miles. This truck is being maintained by my good friend and mechanic Tony at Glendora Auto. 676 E. San Bernardino Road, Covina CA 91723. 626-331-3100. You need an honest mechanic if you want your truck to last!!!

  • @joe72907290 It's funny, my 2002 Tacoma was made in the Toyota factory in California... My Boss has a big Dodge truck, you know where that's made? M-E-X-I-C-O. The secretary of my office has a 2008 Chevy Aveo, I asked her why she bought it and she said "because I like American cars... I felt bad telling her that her CHEVY was made in KOREA. My uncle had a 1998 Suburban, major engine failure @ 57K miles... Made in MEXICO! Toyota may have started in Japan, but it's an American owned co. now.

Toyota is a Japanese owned company. What are you talking about?

  • 95 Lexus LS400 292,000 miles, dad sold it because he was in the business, no rattle or mechanical problems. 98 Camry, mom'scar, 250k running strong. 96 SC400, 200k running strong. dad's third car in America in mid 80's: 84 supra, abused often, but loved, 200k in 3 years, 1 owner across US multiple times, changed engine, sold it because he was getting married. 84 accord grandparents bought new 300k sold in 94.. many others to list.. Japanese build quality is the greatest

  • Stop telling everybody where Chevys are built All the hicks want us to believe they are Amurican made. Say it with me Amurican made not American made.

  • @IIBOONERII I think I figured it out. . . its the speedometer cable. . . it either has to be greased or replaced.

  • @390merc65 I don't know if you guys know this or not but some Hondas are built in mexico like the CRV's and sheesh they smell horrible when we get them.

  • @oregonnich My truck does that as well, I thought it was a left front wheel bearing but I am still not sure. Mine does it when it's cold outside. It's not the tires or anything because they are bran new. I am not sure what that is but when it's hot it don't do it..

  • @bmwmsport11 My truck is a 96 tacoma witht he V6 it has almost 600,000 as well. So yeah its the 6cylinder. It has been a great truck. Its not 4wd but it is extended cab but no options its all plain..

  • My Identical 1996 toyota tacoma also has 590,700 miles on it, still running smooth and a like a champ, oil is clean transmission shifts out smooth. V6 extended cab. Can't beat it. Sadly I am trading it in now for a new car.

Funny, Because Chevy Aveo? That's not even made by Chevy, It's a Mass-Production vehicle built by a company called Daewoo.

  • What kind of engine does this have? And are the miles highway? I have one too, and i wanna know how many miles it can take.
