Aprile Millo - La Mamma Morta - Umberto Giordano
This was a request
In september 1991 the Metropolitan Opera celebrated it's 25th anniversary at Lincoln Center by performing three different acts from a selection of popular Met productions. In the final act (act II of Die Fledermaus) there were some special guest performances by highly renowned opera stars.
One of the guests was Aprile Millo. She sung "La Mamma Morta" from Giordano's opera "Andréa Chenier". James Levine is conducting.
The idea behind these clips was to provide a High Quality clips on YouTube. Unfortunately the YT encoding creates an artificial noise in the peaks. I hope you still can enjoy this. The Source for this video was a DG DVD which was released in 2010.
