No, Ida was a Biochemist who worked for the Rockafeller institute in the 20's and wrote 27 papers on enzyme research. After leaving she developed an interest in alternative therapies: yoga for its effect of counteracting gravities forces and osteopathy triggered her ideas about working with the fascia to deal with gravities effects on the body.

I love being an educator of Ida's method, and provoking and noticing the shifts in my own body along with my psyche.
Thank you. I have been a Rolfer for 10 years and this is the first time I see and hear Ida Rolf. She is incredible.

Rolfing helped me immensely to improve my posture and eliminate back pain when I went through the ten series about a decade ago. It it a very fascinating technique.
Thanks for sharing this!
