I have a theory, could be wrong. Jack and Kristina were probably working together and on GH in general for long hours. Plus they had to put so much emotion (both positive and negative) in their scenes. I'll bet that when the cameras turned off they needed a break from all the intensity. GH brought them together, but maybe put a strain on their personal relationship as well.

Even in this interview they seem like all the emotion has been sucked out of them, and understandably so.
