    I was born in Ventura and lived there many years. While several upscale restaurants and night clubs have sprung up, beggars and muggers still inhabit the old downtown. An aquaintance of mine was recently attacked in front of the Busy Bee Cafe one evening by three men. His injuries required hospitalization. The quality of people has declined, there are tattoo shops and massage parlors all along main street now, and the city has put up red light cameras in many intersections. What a shame.
