This lady was fantastic! A beatiful singer, artist and lady all way around. She left a wealth in beautiful melodies, I collect her music and I know that as long as I am in this earth, I will be listening to her. God Bless You Miss Lee!

Want the best of this? I mean the very best! Check Marin Mazzie doing it on Sondheim's 80th birthday show.

As far as Sondheim remixes go, this is one of the best. I love how she sings this as if the character's already resigned to the fact that she'll never be with her love. She's just relishing in her memories/fantasies of him and that makes her happy enough.

In 80's Pet Shop Boys and Minelli made a remix of this song.

I love this song and I love Peggy Lee. As a singer myself I must include it in my tribute shows to Peggy so the world never forgets her she is so inspirational and such a great style from Cate Shaw

I did my first "Tribute To Peggy Lee Show" last Tuesday 7th 2010 (my dream come true) for the City Council which was so well received. I hope to them all over the world as she is so special and I want the world to remember her please see my Cate Shaw website

I am surprised she did such a "light ' version of this incredible song. I would have thought she would interpret it in the sensitive soul searching way she did "Is That All There Is " and "When The World Was Young". Its a shame cause this is a beautiful and complex song and Peggy could have done a definitive version of it .
old Peggy Lee reaches us from beyond the grave. She was truly amazing... talented.. thanks for putting this song up on youtube.. a great song sung by a greata lady.

Its an interesting interpretation... sounds like a Bacharach song this time. Well thats a great song for ya! You can do it any which way. But anything sung by Miss Lee...even the telephone directory would sound glorius.
