The atheist simply says that there is not enough evidence for belief in a God. The anti-theist says that not only is there no evidence for such a being, but if one did exist it would be a very bad thing indeed.
You're thinking of Dawkin's cat. 6 "De-facto atheist" compared with the cat. 7 atheist that is absolutely sure of his atheism.
@PalulukanMakto Those examples you gave pretty much sound like the same thing. Either way my stance is that I've educated myself just enough to understand that another unfalsifiable deity, the sun being carried by a chariot, a man riding a horse into the sky, and very roughly estimated 16 million animals and insects with food and water for a year on an ancient wooden super-ship while more water than there is on earth rains with REAL proof contrary; is probably exactly how it sounds.
@AvatarRoku1 You have it quite backwards. Atheism is not a lack of knowledge, that is easily acquired by growing up to a Christian family or studying. I think freely and the notion of a god is not provable or falsifiable from what I have seen in the totality of my life. Technically I am agnostic because I look at it objectively and see the lies. A true Atheist blindly denying god would be in the same boat as theists. Don't get so heated, I'm just text on your screen saying it like it is.
@MetaKnight964 I used to consider myself conservative but at one point you wonder, conservative of what really when you think about it lol. The founding fathers weren't christian afaik. ("a light house is more useful than a church", the "Jefferson bible" etc)
I figured maybe it's best to judge things without absolute political affiliation or in accordance to dogmatic religious codexes, but using my own overclocked ape brain or just suspend judgement when you don't know the facts ..
@MetaKnight964 the fanatic argued as follow: if you were a rapist, serial chainsaw murderer, child molester, meth addict and dealer, drunk children blood for breakfast for decades on, you're guaranteed to go to heaven if you just start following the bible and become like Jesus after "repenting" and baptism. It's funny when they preach this in public, a corner away there's always some other retard preaching some other religion. "Join us to get saved" goes the marketing most of the time. >_>
@MetaKnight964 you're *considerably* more liberal than the fanatics I've been debating lately, they say even if a person was to lead a completely sinless life and even gave it up to save for instance a child from a train crash that person would still unquestionably burn for all eternity in hell (despite finite lifespan..) if he or she doesn't believe in Jesus or whatever deity of choice. It's just completely messed up man, there's a reason people stop taking sides in these things lol
@MetaKnight964 actually there might be a god (Quantum field theory to the rescue of uneducated fanatics...), I just find the so called holy books utterly repulsive and morally completely outdated by centuries. A lot are known bronze-age superstitions and plagiarism from earlier gods (Mithra, Horus, Krishna, you name it (virgin birth, miracles, resurrection, river baptism etc etc)). Anyway if people just keep it to themselves I don't mind it.

Just a semantic issue, but one worth clearing up.

@BigBananaMan You're confusing atheists (don't believe in god) with anti-theists (believe there is no god).

@alex007152 Jsyk, I'm a conservative, though I'm more unconventonal and free spirited than most.

@alex007152 Far as I'm concerned a good atheist has a better chance of going to heaven than a bad christian.
