  • This guitar is like polygamy hahaha.

  • I think the thing to remember is that you can get 2 les pauls, or any guitar infact, and they can sound different. This just does a really job of nailing the signature ballpark sound.

  • @tomhunny But who really wants to play sitar on a guitar anyway ..... not me ...

  • And the Sitar just sounds TOO digital.

  • Hm - the tone from each setting didn't sound like the original.

  • Great post. I am cosidering purchasing this guitar and this is the best side by side video that I've seen. Grand job.

  • @Texasbluesguitardude of course it's not perfect, but still better than the gibson firebird x

  • First time I actually notice a difference in sound. The "real" guitars were all more trebly, mostly while using the bridge pickups. Assuming the amps are the same, mics the same and in the same position... it's pretty noticeable.

  • @Papallazarou I reviewed it here:

  • The tele wins...

  • Yes, they are different, but keep in mind that the real guitars he was playin were probably not the guitars the variax was modeling considering that there are 2 different les Paul modeling choices, plus u can easily achieve those tones by simply adjusting the EQ, this is especially easy if u r using a pod or modeling amp with presets

  • I notice a slight tonal difference between the guitars. The variaxs' emulations seem to be slightly darker. But still very impressive. If I could afford this guitar, I would definitely gig with it. There would be no need to gig with several different guitars.
