As you may have noticed (or not) the essay contest is scheduled to end on March 4th, the European release date. I'm sure you guys in Europe will be having a blast by then. I'll be prepared for the flood of new information coming in.
The 9th pass I created was the Anton Pass. In contrast to the previous Astrid Pass, which has the lowest winning rate of any of my teams, the Anton Pass has the highest. I finished building this team shortly before a Pokémon World Championships event in San Diego. I decided to travel there to see what it looks like, and I came across a PBR casual room. (The video game tournament had ended. This day was for the card game tournament.) I decided to test this team out to see how it does. The first Pokémon Ditto ever copied against a human player? Arceus.
Due to the large amount of entries, I couldn't finish selecting a winner until this video finished uploading. But now I've determined a winner, ClefairyRox:

Despite the fact that Zorua and Zoroark can only be obtained through events as of now, I do not consider them to be event Pokemon.
First, there is nothing special about the Zorua and Zoroark, other than the events that occur to catch them. They aren't legendary Pokemon, and they have no special, exclusive moves like the legendary dog trio that unlocks Zoroark or the Celebi that unlocks Zorua. Even the Zoroark that knows Bark Out isn't completely special, since Bark Out is a TM (albeit one that's also obtained through an event).
The other reason, which I consider the biggest, is that Zorua and Zoroark are breedable and Zorua evolves into Zoroark. You can easily ask a friend of yours who has a Zorua or Zoroark to breed one for you. Or, you can go on the GTS provided you have seen one in your Pokedex and get one off there. Then, you yourself can breed as many as you'd like. Even if you missed the event involving one, you can do the other and evolve or breed to get the Pokemon you are missing. No event Pokemon besides Manaphy has been breedable, and even then, Phione cannot evolve into Manaphy or have egg moves. And no event Pokemon has been able to evolve either. This makes the pair much more easily attainable than event Pokemon.
In short, Zorua and Zoroark can be rather difficult to obtain, but not nearly as difficult as some other Pokemon, like Celebi or Manaphy. Their ability to breed and evolve creates a far larger population than Pokemon that can truly be considered event Pokemon. The more Pokemon there are, after all, the easier they are to obtain. And a Pokemon can't be an event Pokemon unless it is exceptionally difficult to obtain.

For some reason, the issues with not answering the question popped back up again. Is it because I didn't say to read the prompt carefully? ClefairyRox's essay not only directly addressed the question, but it went straight to the point: The essay picked a side on the first sentence and spent the rest of the essay supporting that side. This, people, is what makes a good essay.
Now, as for this battle, Ditto managed to shine again. With Alakazam and Blaziken finished off in short order, the proverbial gloves were off for my opponent, sending in Rayquaza and Lugia. That's a lot more imposing--though arguably, Alakazam and Blaziken are the bigger threats.
I used Kangaskhan, Ditto, Abomasnow, and Jirachi (unseen). My opponent used Blaziken, Alakazam, Lugia, and Rayquaza.
i have a question, can you trade evo with this game? meaning lets say machoke into machamp?
latintiger 6 months ago
@latintiger No, because there's no trading that occurs in Pokémon Battle Revolution.

@Overhazard wow then this game really sucks
latintiger 6 months ago
@latintiger Simply because you don't trade Pokémon?
Overhazard 6 months ago
@Overhazard well theres no story mode, you cant trade, and this game has a bad rating
latintiger 6 months ago
@latintiger You can simply use the GTS to trade, or find someone to trade Friend Codes with using a DS Pokémon game.
