@TachyonDrums - I agree with you 100%.Wakeman's stuff seems all very samey too.
He doesn't seem to tackle or incorporate different styles into his playing.
In fact most of his stuff seems to be based around arpeggios played at lightning speed.

The Greatest Pianist ever are guys Like Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Vladimir, Joseph Fidilmann, Keith Emerson, Rick Wakman, Jordon Rudess. Among many others I didn't mention. However please do no mention BIlly Joel's name in the the greatness of Keith Emerson. It is insulting to music. He is a great song writer nuff said :)

These guys have no idea who Chick Corea or Jarrett is because they have confined themselves to the realm of genre, so that's all they understand about music which is no understanding at all. But putting Steve Howe at McGalughlin's level is all wrong too. Steve is very good but he walks in McGlaughlin's shadow like every other guitar player does. But you are right. comparing them to the likes of Pete Townsend is a waste of space...lmao

To my surprise, Joel and Moraz are winners here. Both playing with much greater ease and precision than Emerson...

Emerson proves why he is the master. Moraz and Joel take a distant back seat. If Joel wasn't a song writer first, nobody would know who he is. Moraz was well known for a short period.
