Any book will probably contain some things that are true and some that are false. It doesn't mean anything. At all. At best you've now demonstrated the bible isn't 100% bullshit. And it certainly doesn't support the claim that it's 'the good book' or anything moral.

barometric pressure was known 2000 yrs ago. they egyptians had ways to measure it. 5) anyone whos ever seen a cyclone KNOWS wind isnt straight. and they had cyclones thousands of years ago. 6) we still bleed sick people. ever heard of leech therapy? its STILL USED IN MOST HOSPITALS FOR SOME CONDITIONS 7) where is your proof the bible was written by god? i have proof that it wasnt. sooo. yeah. read a little before you make urself loof stupid

first off, the 'fact' that the ancient believed the earth was flat is FALSE! there was a small group of europeans who thought that. but ever since pythagoras and aristotle, we've known it was round. dont make the ancient look dumb. 2) no one EVER thought there were only 1100 stars. just fucking LOOK UP! 3)what scientists believed the earth sat ontop of any animal?!?!?! 4) light was never thought to be stationary........

Science thought that the Earth sat on top of a large animal? And which "scientist" thought that? Archimedes? Pythagoras? I think when you say "science" you really mean "some people somewhere". Scientists only believe things that are supported by hard evidence and logic.

The bible wasn't the only place that the belief of the earth being round 2000 to 3000 years ago. Contrary to what you are taught, Columbus didn't prove the Earth was round. Science doesn't say stars are innumerable. I wouldn't call atoms invisible since they can not be seen by the naked eye. No references outside of bible verses, etc ... and some things were known by NON-Christian Cultures ... doesn't that make you think.

@sirgazz The best estimate of science is 13 billion years ago, yet the popular estimate of "christian scientists" using the chronology of the bible is that the earth was created somewhere around 6500 BC. That doesn't exactly jibe with the idea that the bible was proven by science.

@routan1 The light would of come from burning gas and would be far to dispersed for us to see it now. The best estimates we have are that this happend about 13 billion years ago, not a couple of thousand years.
-
@sirgazz If that is so, why, (if this was only a couple of thousand years ago) is it dark after the sun goes down? Where did the light go? Shouldn't we still be able to see it?
-
@routan1 Big bang theory says that there would be light before the sun and stars where formed

A circle is not a sphere.
@jebug29 Thats the problem... Literal when it suits and not literal when the Bible doesn't match the facts...

A bit simplistic, isn't it? This is the same bible that quoted god as saying, "Let there be light, etc." on the first day. Four days later it says "Let there be lights in the firmament, etc. to separate the day from the night and to give light upon the earth." And God made the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. So where was the light coming from in the intervening two days? The bible is not a scientific work.
