@LER77 Name the last election in the u.s. corporation that has not been a sham? You might have to go back to the 1950's. Bush "won" two sham elections. What did the u.n. say about it? Nothing!

The USA also had it's own share of sham elections

" US may slap unilateral sanctions against Zimbabwe after Robert Mugabe was re-elected over the weekend. "
This should leave no one in doubt - sanctions are there to punish the Zimbabwean people, for making the 'wrong' choice at the ballot box. In the words of Chester Crocker to the US Senate when ZDERA was introduced:
"To separate the Zimbabwean people from ZANU-PF, we need to make their economy scream. And I hope you senators have the stomach for what you need to do."
Mugabe once blamed inflation on 'Greedy businesses' demanding price rises. This encouraged him to set up price controls. But, as mentioned these have been ineffective in preventing inflation.
Other Mugabe supporters have tried to blame the inflation as a 'Western Import'. Although this assertion is rather bizarre given that inflation is relatively low in Western economies

Rhodesia was super. Zimbabwe inherited from Rhodesia everything an African country can only dream about: commercial agriculture that produced every possible grain, fruit or vegetable, even resin, diverse and well functioning industry, developed network of roads and railroads, cities' infrastructure, schools, hospitals and civil services...
And squandered it all. Nothing works. So who is to blame? Of course colonialists and world imperialists, who else? Not yourself, precious.
