Short video of the latest Mercedes SLT heavy haulage tractor with MegaSpace cab, PowerShift auto, 653hp V8 engine and the very latest 'turbo-coupling' jointly developed by Voith which allows easy starting with loads of up to 250-tonnes. In this clip it's running at 160-tonnes--easy with an auto! It also shows the 'old' SLT hauling 150-tonnes with 600hp V8 and the previous manual gearbox with ZF torque convertor hauling 150 tonnes...shot by Bigloryblog for ww.roadtransport.com

well there is more steel on scania than on any trucks in US

    they have 60t in scandinavia

strongest scanias can cope with 300t gross weight , have you seen what does scania and volvo trucks do in indonesian coal mines and in mongolia hauling 200t gross weight in mud where 325/95r24 tires last 14day

trucks burn 265gallons of fuel per day climbing on steep hills, work 24-7 engine can last for 3years 97% of humidity 110+ F or now -40F in mongolia

  • @AlabamaCrackerHonkey yh sure but somehow about 30 countries use them, maunatins any other terain, they down tow 4 trailers because they are not stupid and europe is not australia so get some sence in your life and stop posting stuppid comments

  • @londonas2 stupid American? LOL I live in Europe and drove a piece of shit Scania last week. I rode in a DAF two days ago and it felt like big shitty Honda. I haven't seen any Scanias towing 4 trailers like KW and PB do in Australia... or B doubles or triples in Canada. Europeans are just mad because 99% of them wouldn't make it farther than about 10 feet in a REAL truck.

  • @AlabamaCrackerHonkey engines can't handle? i believe that 730 horsepower is enough to tow most of the trailers. scania is as economical as a peterbuilt or a kenworth? this was like the funniest one ever have u ever seen any videos about scania or have u seen any specs about scania and kenworth seriously dude by saying this u just proved to be a stupid stupid american that knows nothing else but kenworth and peterbuilt. i feel sorry for u and please don't comment again

  • @AlabamaCrackerHonkey just shows how much you know about trucks, im just sad for you because you just stated the facts that don't exist

  • @londonas2 Scania = terrible Euro plastic cab-over design, shitty transmissions, girly sound, and no more economical than a modern Pete or KW. I drove a Pete 50-ton recovery truck in the U.S. and often grossed over 65 tons towing combination vehicles which in Europe is illegal and your shitty trucks can't handle it anyways. You're limited to 40 tons, mostly auto transmissions or manuals with synchros (for the girls), and single trailers. Europe is the land of the ugliest and shittiest trucks.

  • @stuarty500 yh but also more boring, manual gives the driver joy of driving (well proffesional drivers, not drivers like you)

  • @AlabamaCrackerHonkey peterbuilt and kenworth? let me think about it. scania awesome engine, great design and economical. kenworth, two big, two heavy, crapy engine, so uneconomical you will spend a fortune on fuel and im not even gonna tal about emmision. I think you should stick to cars because you don't know shit about trucks

  • lol using "manual gear box is so hard" no it's not, if you know how to drive then you will make the gear change easily, it sounds like you passed an auto driving test rather than a manual

  • С ужасом думаю сколько там налог будет на такие движки ) в России
