It's very odd for me to hear a man say "We admitted we fancied women". Sexual politics are so different in America than in Britain. There's always been a lot of he-man-heterosexual posing going on here that I guess is (or was) absent in other cultures. Interesting.

to be fair, this docu had a lot more suede and elastica than most on Britpop.

Never really considered Oasis to be Britpop, they just existed at the same time..

I disagree. You can say a lot of things about Noel Gallagher, but you can't say his songs lack imagination. I think Oasis just weren't/aren't as pretentious as those other bands and didn't give a shit about being "different".

@tombinoarg : Seriously, Oasis are seriously outclassed by both The Jam and The Specials. Paul Weller > than the Gallagher brothers. The Jam, The Clash, The Cure, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Echo & The Bunnymen, XTC, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, The Style Council, Madness, P.I.L, Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Supergrass, Fields of the Nephilim and even 'The Addicts' were and are great British bands. Oasis doesn't even make the list in my book.

@tombinoarg : How could the narrator even compare The Jam and The Specials with 'Oasis!?' Oasis was and remains nothing, but a commercial gimmick for the British press to fill a vacuum of wanting to represent supposed 'Britishness' in the mid 90's. The Jam, The Specials, and Oasis are nothing alike actually. Each band had their own influences revealed in their particular styles. The Specials are one of the greatest Ska bands of all time. The Jam are one of the greatest Brit bands ever!

Estoy de acuerdo, aparte de unas pocas buenas canciones, Oasis son una basura de personas, y desde sus inicios, ni si quiera me llegaron a fondo porque su musica no me parecia de lo que yo considero ser la vanguardia de gran musica Britanica! Oasis are an annoying bunch, and Liam's voice is just as bothersome as his persona. The Smiths were and remain the greatest Manchester band to have ever emerged, and whilst Blur is by no means the greatest much better than the bore of Oasis!
