The Jump (Jumper Effect Test Video)

This is a test video that we shot inspired by the movie Jumper. The camera we used was a Canon HV20 (shot 25P in Cine Mode), edited in Premiere, effects in After Effects and a little bit of Soundbooth was used as well. Music is by Marco Beltrami from the Die Hard 4 soundtrack. We know its not something special but the last teleporting effect was really difficult to make because the camera is panning. Please don't comment about the acting we know its lame...

Yes, at 1:22 you can see our tripod, we were just too lazy to redo the shot... For those who ask for a tutorial, I don't think that I'll be making one, at least not soon, but I can tell you how I did the effect. What i did is I used a turbulent displace effect in after effects and animated it a bit. Also I animated the opacity during the displace so that it slowly fades out. The effect lasts for about 4 frames. The sound effects are from videocopilot.net from a collection called Designer Sound FX and can be found here: http://www.videocopilot.net/products/dsfx/
