" From a Cradle to a casket The Master and His servant have exactly the same Fate"

completely shocked me while watching Fiddler on the Roof

"The master and his servant have exactly the same fate.
Its a sunrise and a sunset.
From a cradle to a casket.
Theres no way to escape.
The sunrise and the sunset.
Hold your sadness like a puppet, keep putting on the play.
But everything you do is leading to the point
where you just wont know what to do."
SO fucking sobering...so fucking true....

Wow. I love Bright Eyes but this song makes me feel that there is nothing good about my life at all. Most songs by Bright Eyes I find comfort in, even the sad ones. I spend days in blissful forgetfulness and then Conor has to go and remind me. I bet he walks around with a needle all day just waiting for a balloon that he can pop.

@MrNhippie5 The song is about hell really, every day is the same, being alive, but being dead spiritually inside & not wanting to be alive. It's about the human condition, how days can become "rinse & repeat." How you can suck the life out of yourself by falling in love with yourself. Conor is incredibly introverted & has probably become narcissistic because of that. (although highly creative) I think he hates the "fakeness" of people, but realizes he's exactly the same & that pains him.

I still am trying to figure out exactly what is behind this song. It seems really deep, almost like a song only the writer can understand. Its subliminal to an extent but really its the sintexs, its whats between the words that really bring out meaning. So interesting to me.
