still. i think that the cutter is a little high and can easy cut into the finger of a less aware handler. I know it works for you.... But the jigs does allow the cutter to cut finger if it is mishandle yet keeping hands on the handle. So i merely suggest that the jig be made longer so that the high cutter can not graze fingers. You do know that posting will lead to duplication by eventual watchers. Not all of them will think of moving their fingers.

why does the jig handles get so close to the cutter at the end of the second cut? can the MDF template be made 4 " longer so that the worker don't have to retract fingers in fear? You said that the template is there to protect the fingers but yet the template stop right then guiding the cutter to the fingers... 1" start stretch should added of 5 " of finger safe space. Don't get sued.

@dufondutrou Obviously, you can build a sled with whatever sized lead-ins or lead outs you like, and with handles of any size and position make you comfortable. My rule of thumb is: any operation that makes you feel uncomfortable should not be attempted, find another way.
I used those sleds to create a number of legs for the magazine article shown. I never felt at any time that my fingers were in danger. Yes, I do change my grip as the sled moves along, but that is normal.
