Car test CITROEN DS3

We've been waiting for this one. This is Citroen's answer to the Mini, Alfa Romeo's Mito and the Fiat 500, this is the DS3. In contrast to the others, for Citroen, the DS isn't a trip down memory lane but rather an attempt to create a contemporary parallel range of cars to its existing catalogue.

The design suffers from a kind of schizophrenia, too many shapes vying for your attention. The French have always had a penchant for decorative surface details and the design cues create a kind of pinball-machine effect. While the novelty of the multi-tone color schemes is just that-novel-I don't think this design will age well.

I'm sure it is real nice to drive, but there's just nothing about the exterior styling that appeals to me. I'm not looking forward to being visually assaulted by these things in a couple of years.
