St.Peter's Church In Kitkatla was built in 1935 by the people of Kitkatla with Saikichi Fujimoto as the chief carpenter.
The Fujimotos lived in Kitkatla for a year during the construction of the church and became well acquainted with the people of Kitkatla. Mrs. Fujimoto taught the women of the village to cook Japanese style. Their children have fond memories of Kitkatla and would love to visit again.
Mr. Fujimoto carved the Angel, displayed over the front door of the church, as a gift to the people of Kitkatla. If you are ever in Kitkatla, you can see his signature at the bottom of the Angel and on the left side of the pulpit.
