Homage to Glenn Gould 2011. Happy 79th Mr. Gould.
The void is only greater needless to say.

  • Such wonderful, splendid portraits, so full of atmosphere, the essence of Gould, the man and artist. I could almost spiritually reach out and touch him. A beautiful, beautiful tribute to an exceptionally great man. We still miss you, Glenn. Thank you so much, Yuka!

You are very much welcome, and thank YOU very much for your extremely thoughtful comment. As we don't have Gould with us, having to acquire Gouldians' approval is probably one of the closest things to getting the approval from the man himself, and the pleasure that follows is just out of this world! Thank you!!

  • Amazing work, as always. You always pick the best poses, and the execution is flawless. Love those hand drawings. What flawless hands that man had! One of my favorite Gould quotes: "bright colors of any kind depress me," hahaha. So I guess he'd have been glad you worked mostly in black & white.

Thank you so much for your wonderfully kind words. GG's hands are always beyond my pleasure to draw~! I love drawing hands anyway, and to top it off with working on THE HAND is a delight out of this world:-D

  • Exquisite... thanks so much... This October 4 2011 I'll visit Glenn's grave here at Toronto's Mount Pleasant Cemetery; doubtless there will others there as well. 29 years on, we still love you noble Sir...

I am so grateful that you're posting your visit to the grave site for people like me to view. Would you please pay him my respect for me as well when you visit on the 4th? Thank you so much for commenting;-)

Isn't it lovely? I thought he did a superb job throughout the documentary. I am with all his comments and opinions. He's not a philosopher for nothing ;-) Thank you Helen for your wonderful comment and godly supportive words. ;-)

    ...and here's what he says:

"You have all these narrative elements of a fascinating genius. But ultimately there's a mystery at the heart of Glenn Gould. Every time you think that's what Glenn Gould is about or that's what his life meant, it slips away into something else. And it's the inexplicability of Glenn Gould that keeps people coming back to him."

  • @DesertAnnie

You probably remember that philosopher Mark Kingwell was in Genius Within, and he is leaving very important and, in my opinion a spot-on comment towards the very last part of the documentary.
