  • I really specialize in vintage guitar synths. You should check out the v-guitar forum. Google v-guitar forum. I contribute there, and there are lots of folks who have extensive knowledge of the various Roland guitar synths.

  • Hello Wayne! great demo, sounds very close to the origina.I have a question for you: I play only nylon string guitar, and I am considering purchasing a godin acs and a roland GR 55 or VG 99. could these soundsbe achieved with the VG99 as well? what is essentially different between these models? also does the ACS track well? I saw you posted some demos with it and I would really appriciate your response.

  • The GR-55 does some things the VG-99 does not, and the VG-99 also has some capabilities well beyond the GR-55. I would suggest you join the V-guitar forum, there is a wealth of information there to answer your questions. In general, I prefer the magnetic pickups, though the piezo systems are very popular. Again, there is a lengthy discussion on the pros and cons of these system at the v-guitar forum. Good luck!

  • anyone out there have a gr55 and know settings on how to get pats guitar sound?someone said the 335 or the l5 guitar, this is my first time with a guitar synth, the gr300 tweak is really good. i wrote wayne a email but no response, any help out there would be appreciated, such as parameter settings. • Sorry you did not get my earlier response! It's hard to nail down Pat's electric sound. While he basically played the same guitar for years, the ES-175, he later switched to his Ibanez signature guitar. While live his use of effects and amps has been fairly consistent, his recorded sound is based on a combination of direct recording, amping, and studio efx. Unlike the GR-300, it's almost impossible to recommend one setting. To recreate the general sound of a jazz box guitar, I use the L4 setting.

  • The rocket science part is really easy. Just set the parameters in your synth once, and you are done. Programming a guitar synth does not require a decade of training, study, and a never ending search for your own unique, artistic voice. The really hard part is striving hard to be the best musician and artist you can be. Great music does come from the heart, people just use different tools to achieve their goals. Don't give up just because somethng seems difficult at first!

  • Hi. Great video and great tutorial.

Please, how to obtain tabs of the song?

    Thanks

  • @atambourineman yes you can specifie two sounds + modelized sound and valid them 3 string by string or not, .... you can also affect an intervall of fourth to the played sound for a while: it sounds like the bridge of "in the mood" from glenn miller, it is fantastic after a few hours passed to try
