A new study claims that online piracy costs the UK 39,000 jobs in 2008 and could cost quarter of a million more by 2015.
The report, carried out on behalf of the International Chamber of Commerce, also claimed that piracy caused the UK's creative industries to lose 1.4 billion Euros in the same time period.
However the BBC reports that campaigners have described the study as nothing more than 'corporate propaganda'.
It comes at the same time that mobile network and ISP O2 has accused lawyers acting for music companies of 'bullying and threatening' their customers with letters accusing them of illegal file sharing.
