  • Thanks Captain for being so polite. I can see why you don't belong to the deplorable groups. I should explain that I just didn't read the Bible. Since I had converted from atheism I spent 9 months studying Genesis 1 through 9 to reconcile from my former beliefs. Nine months is a long time but I had to prove stuff to myself and not let anyone influence me. I spent months in Job, months in Ecclisiastes, a year and a half in Matthew and so on with many other books.

  • I agree. Repenting can be considered a work. Salvation is 3 tiered according to scripture. The instant I believed I was JUSTIFIED. My life consists of ongoing SANCTIFICATION. When I join the LORD I will be SANCTIFIED. Since I'm a really old guy, I consider myself almost to the point of salvation.

  • This is child abuse, plain and simple. Filling their minds with this garbage before they have a chance to examine it critically. But Im guessing you think indoctrinating them is just dandy. Critical thinking might have the effect of having the bible be laughed at for the sham it really is, and you dont want them to think like that do you, you want to stunt their minds...for jesus of course.

  • CaptainLulz You might be surprised to learn that I was an atheist and evolutionist until late in my 40's. As I studied Leaky & Johanson, I began to realize how silly they were and so was the whole evolution farce. They each wanted to prove how wrong the other was. So if one evolutionist doesn't believe another evolutionist, evolution seems rather futile. Science starts with theory, proven by empirical and observable evidence. There really is none. It's still theory and speculation.

  • CaptainLulz - To continue, I usually delete this type of comment because so many are replete with repulsive language. I appreciate the fact that you did not use foul language in your comment. and can articulate your concern in a civil and polite manner. I'd like to comment on brainwashing. It is something we experience all our lives but may not be aware of it. Politicians continually brainwash us. And that 's what schools do; brainwash kids into believing evolution. and there is no God.

  • Captain - Continuing - I admit that my side brainwashes just as your side does. I can only hope to get them first and let them see that I live my life by what I teach. After I turned my back on evolution, it took a long time to become a Christian. I did not want to be brainwashed by Christians. I studied the Bible to understand it. I think one of the most convincing things was Saul's conversion. Why would a Christian killerr , a rising star, give it all up? Have you studied the Bible?

  • The very reason of my Belief in God is Jesus Christ himself. Through my study of history it could not be denied that he walked on this Earth and proved who he really is. Without him, and understanding who he was, what he did, we will fall short of understanding of the entire Bible. That s the time atheist call this wonderful Book a junk.

  • @HeavenEarthStudios I did study the bible, thats why Im an agnostic. And atheists have organized groups, Im not in one. Infact, I find the way they act to be deplorable at times. It was on my 3rd read through the bible that I decided to take the bible as it was, without finding what Im looking for, and It turned to junk. I wont be returning to christianity, Ive become alot more free by leaving it all behind.

  • Repenting of sin has nothing to to with salvation. All that is required for salvation is belief (faith) on jesus finished work on the cross. Repenting of sin and becoming more like Jesus takes place during sanctification after salvation and receiving the Spirit. Repenting in the scriptures refers to a change of mind with regard to believing the gospel brought forth by Jesus on the cross. Even repenting of sin ( a work) will not save you. Only belief in Jesus will give eternal life. John 3:16

  • Oh, okay.
