@DarkAlynAirSoft that's right. Now that the laptop is almost 3 years old, the 8-cell lasts 2,5-3 hours.

how is the battery life? like lets say you were to lower the brightness.

I'm getting about three hours from the six-cell battery. The small battery lasts only about an hour. I tried out Vista's predefined battery settings, have settled for the Balanced profile. I didn't find much difference between the battery profiles.
