This is a hymn that St. Thomas Aquinas wrote in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. It is one of the Catholic church's many beautiful Latin Eucharistic hymns. I am singing in this video, though I am out of the picture in order to give prominence to the Blessed Sacrament.

  • I love the latin version which i learned as a primary school child, but I love the English version. I think it is important that this hymn is used so people who are younger than I am understand it.

  • @mar1944ret I quite agree! I think everybody, especially the young, should know and understand this. Thank you! God Bless you!

  • I can't sing latin but love to sing the English with this. Thank you.

  • @jcagifford Thank you and God bless. You have me a good idea actually. I have not recorded the english version and I really should have by now. Cheers!

  • Brother, could you perform "Tantum Ergo," (the most popular version, there are tons, based on YouTube offerings)...wish I could tell you which version I hear at Adoration......but it's the best known version. God Bless you---this is so uplifting!

  • @BigBingFan I did sing one version of the Tantum Ergo, just go to my channel and type it into the search bar on the top right and it should find it for you. Let me know if it's not quite the version you are used to and I will see if I can work it in, I'm sure I can though. Thanks and God Bless.

  • I really enjoy listening to this hymn! Acapella is the right way to sing Adoro Te devote. This gives a sense of spirituality and purity to the hymn, thus cleansing the souls of those adoring Jesus's Blessed Sacrament so that the Faithful will focus on Jesus's love, but not the hymn.

  • Latin is one of the oldest language contribute to the christianity.. along with kione greek, syriac(aramic dialect), and some others.. though latin is a bit younger... anyway loves this language..

  • @MsAussiemum Thank you and God Bless you too!

  • @Shlomayo Yes, I agree! Thank you and God Bless!
