In this video clip I show how to repair a broken pvc pipe using a part known as a "slip fix" or "quick fix" depending on the brand. This part makes fixing a broke pipe much easier than just using a coupling because you don't have to dig up several feet of the pvc pipe and bow the pipe, which would put stress on the pipe and possibly cause another break. These fittings are great for repairing pipes on existing lawn sprinkler systems, especially in a tight spot with multiple pipes, or around roots. • Well after watching this video. i see a few thing's wrong. The pipe is sprinkler pipe. Thin wall PVC pipe. does not meet code for any plumbing job. Schedule 40 PVC is required by ALL building codes. that piece of junk is just that. it will fail in time. Especially in a cold weather climate. This pipe was broken with the shevel just to make this video. i could fixed this pipe with ONE 3/4 inch couplin and glue. Plumber/30 years. I will make some tricks of the trade video's. make-em say humm&WOW

  • Not bad, but I don't usually glue the mud grip end of the slip fix first.

  • This is the BEST video to fix the broken PVC pipe on youtube

  • BTW...after watching the video again, I never saw you actually glue the couping to the SlipFix....I hope that doesn't come back to bite you :-)

  • I had to repair a broken 1" PVC line. I had a very tight working location, including having the line run under a 500 pound rock- I didn't know how I was going to be able to move the pipe enough to slip in the replacement line/couplings. Before heading off to HomeDepot to purchase the needed couplings/pipe ....I decided to check YouTube for an easier solution. Wow! When I saw your video...I knew I had to get me a slip fix! It worked perfectly! Thank you!

  • Pearland plumbing put this on the 3/4 PVC house main line after 8 months it started leaking.

  • thank you sir thats kind of you to teach us how to fix things:)

  • You should use pvc primer to ensure a good fix you don't want to have to dig it up again. I liked the idea of these slip fixes for pvc though I am going to do battle with two sprinkler pipes today that were broken when a tree was removed from my backyard. Thanks for the walk through.

  • i might sound like a retard but i couldnt get the pipe in when i was trying to cut the size so i cut it sorter but when i put the glue on it slide all the way so just remember that its hard to explain what happened
