The US government had to convince Russia that this wasn't a live warhead. Russia has a satellite fly over the silo making sure the IBM is disabled.

The silo is near Tucson, Arizona

"Silo 7" (1988) was filmed here

  • why does the us have to convince russia its not a live missile its obvious russia has nuclear wepeans so why dont they let us have them

  • @elmoskater we do have nuclear weapons. they are just on a smaller scale compared to this silo.

  • I'm just wondering, but is it not illegal to photograph the inside of a silo? Would that not be considered a security risk? - If I asked to go into the local nuclear power plant to take photos, they would have me in cuffs before I had the camera out of my bag.. -no employees at the nuk power plants are allowed to have cameras when at work. for security reasons, why is this on Youtube?

  • @Crpetersena That is a good point. Prier to filming this I asked the people in charge if I was allowed to film. I'm not sure under what circumstances though.

  • I wonder if one of these silos super indestructable could with stand direct hit from an asteroid the like kind that killed dinosaurs 65 million years ago?

  • @deltaalphaone1 it would probably be destroyed, considering asteroids that size leave mile deep holes

  • @profsat5 thats a pretty heavy price to pay for something like that. i'm surprised they haven't filled it, knowing how much the government likes covering things up.

  • @homidog11 Don't get me wrong, it is an extremely interesting video.

  • @homidog11 its obvious us has nuclear bombs that are over 20mt it wouldnt suprise me if they serectly have something more powerfull then the tsar bomb hidden somewere

  • @Crpetersena Because it is declassified and disarmed silo. That isn't a working sight anymore

  • @deltaalphaone1 It would be incinerated, probably by an asteroid no smaller then a 5 story building. A house size asteroid made a 3/4 mile crater about 50 million years ago.
