People try to go on that river it seems every year. During an excerise to train to save lives one of the emt got injured recently. It is not the biggest but it is truly powerful when you get to that damn
They may have. There was another segment that aired in 1989 where a helicopter used an infrared camera (flir) to chase a burglar through a neighborhood at night. I think that stuff was new back then though.
Well, I don't know if that's true in every part of the USA... I live in Boston and I never knew anyone with a mullet, nor do I remember seeing a lot of mullets in Boston, New York City, etc... maybe it was more of a country thing or a southern/midwest thing. I don't know.
No, but it does seem like it had a lot of water segments. It had one about a stabbing and one about organ transplants. Episode 519 seems the most like a water themed episode. There was a crash into a ditch, a diving accident, a barracuda attack, and a swimming pool drowning.

i don't think they had the technology back then for any of the helicopters.
BTW, the river may not look that huge, it has an immense power and its scary too.
