Philosophy Lesson #1: Nutrition & Sleep (2009 Freddie's Modern Kung Fu)

Eat 4-6 small meals a day. Eat healthy. Healthy foods is common sense. Eat vegetables, fruits, grains, meats, etc. Drink a lot of water and drink 100% juice. Do not take any supplements. Do not smoke or drink alcohol. Do not take any harmful drugs for the body. Sleep 6-10 hours a night.

Freddie has founded Freddies Modern Kung Fu in 2009, a private Martial Arts Academy located in Chicago, IL that expresses his interpretation of Bruce Lees Jeet Kune Do. This art is non-commercialized and is in its purest form. All techniques are scientifically proven to be effective and all techniques are aimed towards unarmed street survival combat. Freddie hand selects disciples to personally train that have the proper discipline and compassionate heart to become successful in this art. • very helpful, thanks.

I do Judo and it i have heard that it is very different to other Marshall arts. is that correct?

  • I have not really had the opportunity to really study Judo thoroughly but I have trained with others who are practitioners of Judo. Every Martial Art is very unique in their own different ways but at the same token they are all the same as they are all analyzing and approaching combat to scientifically discover what is effective and what is not. Judo is one way. Do means way, just like Jeet Kune Do, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido. Study the philosophy behind Do and you will learn much.

  • You are correct. That is very important for this art, more important than any technique training or exercise. That is the foundation, take care of the foundation before you put extra effort into the extras. Living a healthier lifestyle will definately help with the sleep. You gave me an idea. I will make a video about sleep advice soon. I am in the process of uploading the one arm push up video.

  • We are and become what we put into our bodies. Training Kung Fu, our bodies are our temples, and to become the best MAist we can be we must treat that temple correctly. I will absorb this philosophy. More so than usual I will watch myself to make sure I eat healthily and naturally with alot of water.

Sleep is hard for me to catch regularly being an insomniac, hopefully a healthier lifestyle will help with that.
