David plays this tune on his latest CD "Only Everything." He pays homage and shows much respect for Ray Charles and Hank Crawford. I'm sure he was thrilled like a kid on Christmas Day to be playing with his idol. I never saw Night Music when it aired, but I've watched several clips of the show here on YouTube and can tell it was something special. Which also tells me it was too good of a show to last.

I first heard Hank Crawford in 1986, when he began working with Jimmy McGriff. I was immediately hooked. Such great talent there, and I am saddened that they are both now gone.

Amazing! If you listen closely to this rendition you can hear the soul of a man. The best cut I have ever heard Hank Crawford play was Stevie Wonders "Don't you worry bout a thing" this dude played that cut like it was his very own. Hank is the man!

While listening and watching to this I thought I was in church!! Hank proved that the blues does not always have to be played fast, however the key is to tell your point of view or your story.
