Gears of War 2 First Look 2008

Some footage of Gears of War 2 at the FirstLook Event 2008 in Amsterdam (Holland).

We got to play for about 5 minutes each.
5 versus 5 on River, Security or Gridlock. I got to go like 5 times playing on both Security and River only.

On the Locust side I was playing and someone else was filming. When Marcus Fenix is the playable character Im filming.

Some additions I noticed:
- Propane tanks can down you.
- The shotgun takes longer to shoot.
- Torque Bow can actually make headshots. (I got to make one! :D)
- When struck with a Torque Bow you see a small explosion that indicates that you're being hit.
- The weapon swapping isn't that bad after all.
- I saw some sort of glitch were someone chainsawed a car! :o

And guys... Keep in mind that this is just a handycam. Its not a montage of my greatest kills or something. These are the first 2 matches we played on Gears of War 2. And the slomotion was put in because the camera work wasn't top notch. So flaming the camera or the slomotion is not gonna help you a bit, thanks! :)

Exactly, they hurt... But they either hurt you, or they blow you up. They couldn't down you before... That said, there was only one propane tank in Gears of War 1, wich was at the hammer of dawn in Fuel Depot. From what I've seen there's alot more propane tanks in part 2. Seems like we can get some fun kills with them! :D

@MrMarquisM In the released game; no. But this is from a build before the game was released (3-4 months earlier). In this build you can see propane tanks in the Security map. I actually shoot it and down someone with it.

ok im getting confused here, most of the multiplayer videos people post have skinny people that dont look like they have armor on, did they put armed stranded in this game? if they did, it would be so fun to kill them

well lets just say gears of war 2 is a completely different game than gears 1. The shotgun is not really useful at all and the lancers shots slow people down so much that if they roll they just roll in place and dont move forward at all......However they fixed some bugs in gears 1 like the torque bow kills someone if they stand on it no matter what and the starting weapons come with more ammo like the pistol has around 100 shots when the round starts but the boom shot comes with 3 shots in it.

i dont think they messed the whole game up but the key weapon being the shotgun they really messed that up
