@CreampuffQueen She would have been up there with Adele, because she was going to record her new album Ceremonials with American producers, which MOST likely would have made her more famous. But she wanted to stay true to her music, and make Ceremonials a "better version" of Lungs.

All of her songs make my skin crawl, the voice, the lyrics, the gospel in the background...unsettling, but in a good way.
It's hard to explain.
It's like it touches some part of your brain that has been dulled by all this pop garbage bombarding you from everywhere.

I'd say the whole meaning of this song is waking up to reality after surrounding yourself with your dreams and imagination. Realizing that you have to grow up and put a lot of the things you felt secure with behind you.
