@livertaster1 gman is really an opposing alien race disguised as a "government" man who side neither with the combine nor the vortigons but instead wish to manipulate both for an unseen purpose, and posses psychic poewrs wich can only be countered by the vortigons, hence the reason he cant talk directly to freeman when they are present and unoccupied
