My husband and cousin built me a really nice greenhouse. No more buying $5 tomatoes at the grocery store. This thing is so well made, if a hurricane comes, we're hunker'n down inside the greenhouse. The plans can be seen at buildeazy.com. It's 8 by 10 and we used 6 concrete footers made using form tubes. We have since added four windows which we cut into the side using a 142 tooth Skillsaw blade and then covered with screen. We found it cuts polycarbonate the best. The polycarbonate sheets from a company called TufTex. We purchased ours at the local Lowe's.

  • Sorry guys if I have not been responding in a timely manner to your questions. Youtube is now sending all responses to my videos to my gmail account which I hardly ever check. This is a new problem that has popped up for a lot of youtube users and there does not seem to be a solution. I will try to check my gmail more often. Thanks for your patience.

  • @Veravanwhoop By the way, the husband is outside right now cutting windows into the sides of the greenhouse. The springs and summers here in Florida are just too hot for greenhouse plants. Also, been having a problem with moisture and mildew. I think it's because there is no breeze flowing through the greenhouse. So, we shall see how the new windows work this season. Wish us luck. :)

  • a bit small but very good looking, cost ann is the wafers plastic or fiberglass?

  • The concrete pillars have one rod of rebar each down the center. I believe the whole thing cost about $1500. That's corrugated plastic.

  • @Veravanwhoop How long will that plastic last?

  • @smurfboywv The greenhouse is now 3 years old and the plastic is still in great shape. I'd say it would last at least 15 to 20 years.

  • Hello, SUPER !!!!! A great idea.

    Thanks a lot for sharing

  • nice video and green house, I am no expert, but for the amount of work that was put in, I think you need to make those a little bit bigger, twice the size :- ) Good job!

  • @Veravanwhoop This greenhouse is just beautiful! I purchased a 6' x 8' one from Lowe's (Spring Gardener). I like the fact that it has screened mesh windows and 2 doors (but they were a pain in the butt since they're zippered and you have to roll them up and down all the time). I decided to return it after a week. I want something more substantial like yours. Two questions for you...what are the dimensions of your GH & do you have any plans/blueprints of it? Thank you very much!! :o) -Melissa

  • @Veravanwhoop I have 6mil plastic on mine, and although this type you use is $20 a sheet, I think its well worth it. Now just to insulate the walls!

  • dam! dem boys good!

  • That was great ;]
