  • Why even make these type of trashy videos ...simply horrible. No regard to sound quality.

  • @747jpdrummer why do you even care for the audio when you can't play drums anyway?

  • These drums are too loud. They actually overpower themselves in that you can't hear any real tone at all. I wouldn't use them. Sorry. No offense.

  • @gitchigoomi I think that's the microphone in the camera making the bad sound not the kit.

  • I enjoyed this clip. Classic kit with a very good display of jazz & rock playing. Bravo! I don't play professionally but I've been at it for over 30 years. I have some clips on here you might get a kick out of. My tribute to Buddy Rich. Anyway, it would be great to see a longer clip of your playing. I'm always learning from other drummers who know how to play.

  • @petecatz you're right, anyone who tries to argue that is just a complete idiot

  • I think Jimmy Page once said the he wanted the drums to breathe and be open to get the full sound out of them when they were recording their albums. Recording ina shoebox the has soundproofing does hinder the natural sound of the drums. Same with guitar amps which is why Bonhams' drums sound so full and why Pages' marshalls have a full sound as well thanks to the use of distant miking in he studio, I mean listen to When the Levee Breaks for example.

  • I've been playing for almost 25 years and just this year started playing with NO DAMPENING whatsoever, I wonder why it took me so long! tuning the kit for maximum openness nowadays and loving it!

  • @petecatz yep. most people dont understand rums. it to them is simpy something to bang. and damping means you can "bang".

if u dont dampen them, which is the BEST WAY TO LEARN, ten u hear each drums resonance in the room u r in (except in a pro studio where u have to set up the resonance SYNTHETICALLY) and when u get used to the resonance of particular halls/rooms then in a sense THAT is the instrument, those tones and ringing and musical sounds that resonate around the hall!

  • @MrFN2

look, most drummers ARNT drummers, and HAD to use sound proofing and dampoing to hide the hideousness of their crap.

but DONT dampen, LEARN that each drum has a unique charachter and NOTE! yes A NOTE. if your kit is say 4 piece, then its a four key piano (so to speak,) 6 piece then, and so on.... not to be hidden but to be heard the way it is meant to be heard. many metal drummers were bad, and had to dampen their kits, they didnt know how to tune them.

  • @dougalmac54 that could be it too

  • @ThePetercriss3 I think it's more the acoustics of the room in which the drums were recorded.
