You should paint it like a blimp.

@theworden01 the recorder and ocarina are both simpler wind instruments, but i do agree that they should not be compared. in my opinion, the ocarina sounds a lot more beautiful and, not only that, but it can provide a large range of notes.
i used to play the recorder when i was like 6 xD
i think i still have one laying around somewhere
also, cheers to OP. that's an impressive ocarina

I made 3 ocarinas, and any of these worked. Congratulations your one is working.

It's an average-size sweet potato ocarina, dunno why you would say huge. Anyways good job on the ocarina, I know how fun making them can be! :]
I couldn't tell if it was made from ceramic clay or not, and if it was I couldn't tell if it was already baked. Did you eventually glaze it? It might make the ocarina a tiiiiny bit more lower pitched, depending on how many coats of glaze you put on it, but other than that it's not a noticeable difference.

@BendiStraw1 I hadn't done anything with it because later on, I made another one that sounded far superior to this one. And thanks for the tips, that was the largest one I made at that point in time. I now have a contrabass which hits an F2 (give or take).

well why make an orcarina when o found some for 10 dollars?
456weirdman 2 months ago
@456weirdman Because $10 is a price I would pay for a very low-quality one. When I was making and selling them, they sounded far better than the hand-made Peruvian ocarinas, and I sold them for roughly the same price.
Plus, it's never a bad thing to get into the arts and crafts of life.

Hey guys I'm planning on making an ocarina. What clay do u recommend?
Dangu3574 5 months ago
@Dangu3574 I recommend a Cone-10 stoneware for durability, or Cone 06 ceramic earthware for lower firing temperature.
