  • @TheTravisThornton bring that la dispute vs. touché amore shit away from the comment section. They are both amazing bands, no need to internet-rage about that stuff.

  • i'm not trying to shit on any of these bands. I just feel like lyrically each leaves something to be desired. la dispute does some awesome things with meter. musically touche amore harkens back to everything pure about the genre. pbtt has some of the most honest lyrical content i've heard, but it seems like each one is missing something essential. a certain finesse or je ne sais quois.. i dunno. just me, maybe.

  • Touche' Amore' = La Dispute

Anyone that says Touche' Arome' is better or La Dispute is better is just fucking ignorant. We all have our own opinions you shouldn't fight to make your opinion fact.

  • "the problem with this band is not that they are too straightforward lyrically, but that they contort honest lyrics to fit into rhyme schemes that are, in general, so juvenile. there's nothing inherently wrong with saying something obvious. it's just that most of the things that they say are, considering their audience, cliches by this point. musically it's very interesting work. the lyrics just don't seem to warrant it." <3, killthatcity

It seems to me that these bands function well with splits. The experience when listening to a song from each of these bands in succession is intensely visceral.

So what I think needs to occur is La Dispute, Touche Amore, Pianos Become The Teeth and Defeater (if applicable, considering their story) need to do a 4 way split, and I'm sure that it'll fill itself up to a full length runtime, and we will get an entire experience from these bands.

    Just my opinion, though.

  • Im so thankful for this band.

  • @killthatcity true

  • @killthatcity la dispute is amazing, they and touche amore are extremely poetic...and defeater btw. they recycle lyrics on purpose...

I can understand how you can think that. I used to as well. They're just very straightforward with their lyrics to me. I don't think they're bad but they're not for everyone c:
