did you bias the super champ?
-
I'd buy either the Pro Jr/ or Blues Jr. before I wasted any cash on the Super Champ XD or Vibro Champ XD.
-
@journeyquest1 The clean channel on the Super Champ is already all-tube.

The SCXD stock speaker sounds nice at low volumes, but aftermarket speakers can give you more bass and sound better at high volume. I have an Eminence 1058 in mine, which keeps a lot of the Fender tonality. Swappiing to JJ 6v6 tubes would give you a little bigger tone, too.
-
I ordered a Super Champ XD and was wondering what kind of speaker or tubes would smooth the tone out? Is your speaker even broke in yet? I heard of a device from Grant Fidelity called a tube processor that is supposed to make a solid state amp sound more like a tube. Wonder how it would work with a hybrid amp? Whats the tune your playing?

Hi, great videos! I have to ask you, I'm searching around trying to trade the XD for the blues junior, do you think it's worth it or is there not enough between them?
-
Thanks for taking the time for these video's. Which do you think is louder, say for gig settings? Which has higher max volume?
All right guys, if you are wondering what I would choose if I had to only pick one, it would probably be the blues junior. Let me briefly explain why:
1) All tube and real spring reverb. The SCXD has amazing modeling and tubes, but is not all tube, having a digitial preamp and digital reverb. They both sound similar, but the blues jr is theoretically easier to repair and you can mod it more to your liking.
2) The blues junior has a 12 inch speaker.
SCXD owns $/value and versatility though.

thanks for the vid. can you tell me the name of loop pedal again please? and do you have more scxd videos? or records somewhere??

@figmentt
The loop pedal is called the Digitech JamMan Solo. It works great. I do have one other video where both of these amps are pushed a little harder where they start overdriving and breaking up.
