Promotional film for Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, which is notable as it features several deleted scenes and alternate takes, some of which are not included in the DVD version.
This "presentation" long trailer was made for Media ShoWest, an annual US convention. Has some intriguing snippets that didn't survive into the final film, esp. the Saavik-as-half-Romulan dialogue.
Ah. That scene where Dr. McCoy calls Spock green-blooded and inhuman makes more sense now. I always thought that scene was a little wonky. Wish these scenes were included in the original. Thanks for the upload.
What a shame this wasn't included on the DE DVD release. It's amazing that the fans can unearth gems and the studios with so much resources at their disposal cannot. As a hardcore fan of ST II I have to say thanks for sharing! :)
I remember seeing this preview at a local sci-fi convention called "Fool Con" over April 1st in 1982. When I finally saw the movie 6 weeks later, I noticed some of the scenes from this preview were missing. Thanks for posting this - it's been decades since I'd last seen it.
Interesting how it uses music from TOS.

It's a pity that half-Romulan line was cut.

And note the temp SFX track comprised of TOS sounds. :)
