Calvin, Liselotte, Jessica, and Joe served on the Youth Conservaton Corps during the summer of 2010. The four did various projects to make the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge a better place for wildlife and their habitats. We built trails, trapped mosquitoes for a study on West Nile Virus, installed gates, installed signs, and did lots of maintenance on the grounds and facilities. We got some help from Cedar, who was on YCC in 2006, and helped him locate old barbwire fencelines all over the Refuge. It was exhausting work, but the crew made some money and got lots of projects completed by season end. We had some fun along the way and are proud of what we accomplished.
