Yeah just didn't know if it as accurate. My mother recognized it as an old Argentina tango. Can you send me in the direction of the original version (lyrics included).

Jeff Noyes Scherr film. I became a fan of his years ago after watching film "Milk of Amnesia" The art work was incredible as I click thru it frame by frame on Beta recorder.

Dinah Shore sings it. (Kind of a no-brainer, since she's given credit at both the end of the film and in the uploader's comments.) The song is La Cumparsita, or at least the tune is. The lyrics are a far cry from those of the original.
