Video from inside Santika Nightclub moment before fire broke out.

At least 59 people died and 212 people had been injured from the fire. The theme of nightclub's New Year Eve's party was "Goodbye Santika."

According to the eye witness, he had seen small fireworks being tossed from the stage to celebrate the New Year - then noticed flames around the stage and creeping up to the ceiling.

Suddenly, he said, the flames seemed to be everywhere, and the lights went out.

He described people stumbling towards the single entrance, trying to light their way with their mobile phones.

It was a perfect storm of disaster.  Sparklers, hard liquor, party decoration materials, party dress, 1 emergency exit.

The crasiest part the theme of the party was called "Goodbye Santika" and their in house band was called "BURN".

All that is needed to start a fire in this club is for one of it's guest to carelessly dispose the sparkler, like dropping it into a rubbish bin full of inflammable materials. That is why nightclubs are dangerous places; your life is actually dependent on many people behaving in a responsible manner. And that is most of the time not going to happen when liquor, cigarettes, sparklers, pyrotechnics & people having a good time are involved.

I have a question, not to take away from the tragedy of this..prayers to everyone involved...

My question is. Are safety iconcerns in establishments out there more laid back? I mean, thats a whole lot of drunk people in one building holding sparklers. even if there was no concern of a fire burning down the place. wouldn't there be a concern for someone accidentally burning someone else? I think thats a valid question. wouldn't know where else to ask it.

What made them think it was a good idea to light up sparklers inside that place!!!
