This govt has imprisoned innocent men. Some of the so called terrorists are unfortunate patsies. Example...all who were convicted for planning 911. Undoubtedly 911 was a govt hit. Bush Sr & Jr...along with Obama need a cell @ ADX.

I read about this Malachi York guy and he never killed anyone, there's no reason to consider him violent or dangerous. So why is he kept in the highest level of maximum security in 23 hour a day solitary confinement for the rest of his life? I don't like this guy or condone his crimes, but I don't feel our government has the right to torture people, especially when no murder was committed.

Prisons like this should scare everyone into not commiting a crime. A quick google search of the cells in this prison alone should do it. Doing a few months in this prison will drive anyone mad let alone serving a life sentence. Of course those sent here are never leaving. They are there to die.

Some inmates are so violent that they can't socialize with other inmates. What do you do with them?

You clearly have no idea how bad 3 hours in the yard could be. With segregated gangs like the Aryan Brotherhood and the Mexican Mafia there's tension after 10 minutes. So much as look at somebody wrong and there could be a fight, stabbing, or a full on riot. Also that 3 hours of "socializing" as you call it would turn into 3 hours of planning criminal acts, like pushing dope or planning hits outside. Don't forget a lot of these guys are gang leaders. They call the shots.

All inmates, regardless of security level, should be given a minimum of three hours of recreational time in an outdoors setting that would give them an opportunity to socialize with other inmates--and not in an enlarged dog kennel.
