  • @dogodud please learn how read than. i know how it works.

"4motion is a registered trademark of Volkswagen AG, used exclusively on Volkswagen-branded automobiles which utilise four-wheel drive (4WD) systems. Volkswagen has previously used the term "Syncro" for its 4WD models."

    form wikipedia.

all i said was that the word "4motion" just says it has 4wd, which is the case, and doesn't specify if its permanent, haldex, torsen wtv you want.

  • @billasohyeah Please do some research before you leave your comments. 4motion never was true awd, look how motor sits and what trans looks like, its fwd with with extra gear for drive shaft. and transfer case acts like on/off switch. /face palm

  • @dogodud quattro and 4motion are just commercial names for 4 wheel drive cars. neither one says nothing about what kind of sistem it uses.

  • @hitmannor1983 what you think happens when start running 4motion on awd dyno? TCS reads O from rear SS and engages Haldex clutches for rear wheels, it happens so fast that driver never notice it. Quattro on other hand is full time awd system, and cannot be dynod on fwd dynos, unlike 4motion that only takes to remove Haldex relay to make it fwd.

  • @dmmotor To what extent did you have to modify the chassie to make it fit?

  • @dmmotor

He's right though I thought the AWD only kicked in when it sensed wheel slippage?

  • @hitmannor1983 I take it you have never owned or seen a 4WD haldex car on a dyno then. To run a haldex controlled car on a dyno in 2WD you have to remove the fuse to the haldex or unplug the haldex system.

  • @dmmotor Is correct. hitmannor 1983 knows nothing about what he is talking about. I have two highly modded haldex controlled cars.
