  • Too bad Edward becomes an arrogant little smartmouth who made his sister cry later on his reign. Elizabeth and Mary were so much better than his little spoiled self, but it's not Edward's fault really, because he was influenced by his father and uncles.

  • @mckfrr But in the end, Edward was unable to cause further harm cuz she had Charles V of Spain to back her up. Yeah, I think that the Seymours were afraid tt she would fight for the throne which she didn't. Maybe, it's because of Jane Seymour that she decided not to.

  • @JuzTudor70AD back her? i thought he was just using her to annex england into spain's empire

  • @bookworm1138 I meant 'back her' in the sense tt she was allowed to practise her Catholic faith despite the full-force of Edward VI's Protestant reign. And yes, I also agree with you abt Charles V of Spain using her for the interests of his own country.I bet he wasn't pleased when he discovered her decision not to challenge Edward VI for the throne after their father's death

  • Sir Winston Churchill described Edward VI as a "priggish invalid".

  • @EnglishRose719 Yep and she had the 9 days Queen Jane Grey and her co-horts executed for high treason, restored Stephen Gardiner (who was imprisoned) as a Bishop (he was the one who placed the crown on her head).

  • @weirdwinx1 they were actualy close and Mawas very affectionate to elizabeth especially after Edward was born because chances of either one of them claimg the throne was thin. They only fell out when Mary became a religious fanatic

  • its sad about how Mary and Elizabeth and Edward fell out beacause of their religion

  • I wish Mary had slapped Lady Bryan for her presumption; as the series goes on, Lady Bryan even gets to the point of lecturing Anne of Cleves about her duties as Queen of England. Talking about Mary's marriage the way she was, well, that (in terms of servant behavior) was not appropriate.

  • Mary I think liked Jane because Jane and her mother were very close friends

  • @Dogos73 absolutely...the only woman in that court who really behaves like a princess and noble

  • @evaperonfan katherine of aragon was the rightful queen, she was there in the first place. anne put katherine through hell, exiled and not allowed to see her daughter. i like anne, but she had it coming. nuff said.
