Firstly, not MONtreeeal. It's Montreal. Secondly it's not the Old City, it's the Old Montreal, or even better, the Old Port. :)

Sorry, I just noticed your reply. Yes, it's worth the visit. I never tested the restaurant (people told me it's very good and sophisticated), but I went to the bar, and there's beautiful people. The view is wow...! You have to be well dressed, jeans aren't always allowed in, but you don't have to wear the package with the tie. The time I went there, I don't recall a cover charge, but maybe there is. Google the name and you'll find the web site.

Really? I never knew there was a restaurant up there, is it worth going? For the view I would assume yes, can you go just to see or do you have to buy something?

The light you see is on the top of Place Ville-Marie. There is a restaurant and a bar up there, the 737 Altitude, with a terrasse and a very nice view.
